Well, I guess I have a lot of catching up to do with my Live Journal since it's been like three year or so! I'm such a slacker! I guess I'll just do a timeline, that will be easier for me.

January -- In January 2004, I finally get to see Vegas! Jason, Mike and another couple (sorry their names escape me now, guess they didn't leave a lasting impact) venture out to Las Vegas to celebrate Donald Glaude's birthday and his party at the House of Blues. Good times good times! It's the beginning of my love affair with Las Vegas!

February -- The Valentines' Day from hell with Mr. Perkins. Nothing says I Love You then making the female pay for half the dinner at the Melting Pot! If was embarressing because all the males paid for dinner, except for mine. This was the beginning of the end for us. I had enough of his cheap ways and his nasty attitude.

March -- The break-up. This was the end of Jason and I and the renewal of Traycie and I's friendship. After Jason and I broke up, I began partying with Traycie again. Wild times, wild times.

April -- August -- Decoy in the House say ho! Laleen and I became girls again. Lali met JC and it was love. I fell for DJ even though he kept his ex in the game. I met Janette, Jaycee, Josh, John, Patrick, Shawnee, Kristie, John F., Donnie, Jesse, Mark and so many more! It was like a reunion of SSHS and sorts. Great summer for me! We partied like rock stars at the Decoy and the Hide a Dump.

May -- Birth of Skylar Shifflett, my little baby doll, how I miss her!

Summer -- Consisted of countless trips to Buzz, Kings Dominion, Sonar and countless other places.

June -- July -- Then change: Bearing Point lost their contract to Titan. I had to scurry for a job. Luckily, Barry Wright saved me and my job by offering me a job with Titan. I didn't have to leave SET-D after all and I would still be working with Becky and the gang! They were saved too!

June -- Ocean City trip with the family.

July -- I'm spending quality time with Joey.

August -- Las Vegas with Lakeya. Two words...Dry heat! Nancy and Matt get married. Joey and I stop seeing each other.

September -- November -- A bit of a blur. Not too much happened. Went on two dates with two guys who lacked personality. Donna and Andy became engaged and I would be in there wedding. Didn't go to my HS reunion because it fell through and ended up being shitty.

December -- I met a guy named Pete at a DnB event in B-more. It seemed promising, in the beginning. We had mutual likes, DnB, the scene, snowboarding/skiing, movies, etc. but he had his own desires like snowboarding all the time and his new car (happened in February).

January -- Februray -- My job sent me to Fort Dix, NJ, with Jutta, Kurt and Kevin. I thought it would be a horrible trip but all in all it turned out OK.

March -- Pete and I stop seeing each other. End story. I also get really sick for a week during this month.

April -- Cancun baby!

Mid-April -- It was all about Tony, and then my ex, Jason, ruined it for me.

May -- Trying to dodge Jason. I struggle to find a new job when the Acquisition side of Titan's contract dissolves. Luckily I am able to find a job with USDA in SW. I begin in June.

June -- Still trying to dodge Jason and many nights of Buzz....

July -- Dodged Jason. Still going out like a fiend.

August -- Start talking to Toby, doesn't work out but I gain a great friend in the process!

September -- Start talking to Rich. I meet his parents. He never calls me back. What a loser.

September -- I meet Chad

October -- present -- Chad and I are together

late-October -- Traycie and I's relationship dissolves. She can't handle the fact I have a boyfriend. I will not even type out the nasty things she says. All I know is karma is a bitch.

October -- Donna's dad passes...

November -- Chad's Birthday...crazy shit

December -- Las Vegas and my birthday...holla 29!

January -- June -- You know, everything blends in together...it's crazy, nothing significant, just bliss.

February -- Donna and Andy break up. They never married....

July -- Chad and Spoon move in. Buzz closes for good. I don't go to say goodbye. Oh well...Cody passes away, I'm heartbroken. Ricco has a crazy party and I attend Lali's annual pig roast, 80s in the house say ho!

August -- Ocean City

September -- Asia and Torrie marry.

Wow, I forgot that I had Live Journal, silly me! I've been so obsessed with friggin' MySpace that I forgot the pure joys of Live Journal and my need to vent ever so often! I wish I had remember this earlier because I had so much material to work with it would take forever!

So, I end up posting on September 11, 2006, the five year anniversary of the day that changed American forever. I have to admit, I'm obsessed with 9-11, I thought for sure I was going to die that day. Working in S.E. D.C. across the street from the Navy Yard I had a clear view of the Capital. I still remember the day before, September 10th, when our President visited the Navy Yard. Me and my co-workers watched the procession on M Street. I kept thinking to myself, "Could you imagine if something were to take place right now, what would we do?"

I still remember that morning. I did my usual thing, surf the Internet. Then, my co-worker got on the phone with his wife. Now his conversations are LOUD, like he's yelling to someone across room. I can always here EVERYTHING! Well, she tells him about a plane crashing into the WTC. So, I immediately surf the net, but can't find anything. I call my mom to confirm and she tells me not one but TWO planes hit each tower. I was horrified. The Navy Yard went into lockdown and all we could do was gather around a radio and listen to the broadcasters.

Before we knew it, another major incident happened, and this time it hit home. We saw smoke, a lot of black smoke. The Pentagon was hit by a third plane. We all just stood in shock. No one could say anything. That's when the calls came in...I remember my friend Shannon's frantic phone call. She was working at Andrews Air Force Base at the time and was scared to death because the President's plane was landing there. She thought that they could be a possible target. My friend Vince called me next and told me to get out of the city. There were rumors flying around that there were bombs going off everywhere and more hijacked planes heading for DC to attack maybe the White House or the Capital.

I didn't know what to do. I took the Metro in but was afraid to use it because I thought it could be a possible target. I was lucky enough to get a co-worker to take me home. We left S.E. and headed through Capital Hill/Pennsylvania Avenue to escape the District. I will never forget this as long as I live...it was like a scene from a movie! People were running for their lives in the streets, women in heels, the suits, everyone. No one was paying attention to traffic. It really did seem like it was the end of the world, no one knew what would happen next.

I made it home that day and I was in shock. I kept thinking about the loss of life in NYC, DC, and PA. I realized how evil people could be and the state the world was in now. I knew it would be war and even more lives would be lost. To this day I realized that the USA thought they were a super power and nothing could happen here. We were blindsided and caught. We got a taste of what it's like in other countries who are attacked/bombed and face mass destruction. We let our guard down...our security down. We know live in a changed world and life should never be taken for granted. God bless the USA...

Decembre............... [Dec. 30th, 2003|02:01 pm]

[music |"It's My Life" -- No Doubt]

It's been awhile...

I know, I suck about updating my journal...here we go, a New Year's Resolution: UPDATE MY LIVE JOURNAL!

December was a good month, lots of changes going on, a FAR scream from the disaster that October was!

1. Christmas came and went. Now you can call me "Miss Broke-Ass". Spent way too much money and Mr. Visa bill is U.G.L.Y.!

2. Too much Vodka is a BAD thing! 27 on the 27th was a landmark. Too bad I can remember much of it!

3. My friend turned the "Dirty Thirty". WARNING -- The best way to spend the Dirty Thirty is dancing to 70s and 80s. Nothing like a mix of "Staying Alive", "Billy Jean", "Your the One That I Want", "Livin' On A Prayer", and "Dancing Queen". Leave the Purple Rains alone, and I'm talking about the Prince song!

4. Too many sweets float around during Christmas time. Godiva Chocolates are the devil!

5. Bad Santa == SEE IT! That's how I felt when I worked at FUCKING SEARS! Billy Bob is the man!

6. Las Vegas in four days BABY! My bday present from my baby! The Christmas present was bling bling!

Observations and Going-Ons.... [Dec. 3rd, 2003|03:01 pm]
Cherrie Marie
Alright, here we go again! November is gone and December is here and the damn Christmas season has begun...uugghh! The assholes climb out of their Wal-mart / K-mart slumber and flood the roads with their crackerjack driving skills and redneck rudeness as the area malls! Ha, can't wait until it's over. So let's do a top 10 for this joyous holiday season....{puke...}

10. If you haven't seen "Elf", see it! I laughed my ass off throughout the whole movie -- this one is going to go down with the likes of "A Christmas Story" ("You'll shoot your eye out kid..."), "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (the speech that Chevy Chase gives towards the end of the movie about his boss kills me everytime!) and "It's a Wonderful Life" (even though it's on 10 billion times during the holiday season...) and "A Christmas Carol" (the O.G.)

9. I HATE CHRISTMAS MUSIC...Sears ruined it for me! How many times do I have to hear "Jingle fucking Bells" and "Deck the Motherfuckin' Halls"? P.S. -- Please shoot Christina Aguilara for making a Christmas album and Safeway for actually playing it...(my ears! my ears!)

8. Absolute Vodka Citrus, Strawberry, and Lemonade is my new favorite drink. It goes down good and you go down with a bang!

7. I've had enough of Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, and the Sniper Case...played out!

6. Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too?

5. Isn't Thanksgiving an overrated holiday that just makes you a glutton?

4. It felt good to sit at home and laugh at the crowds at the malls and at our local Wal-marts -- I didn't venture out, and it felt good! Hey, I did some of my shopping on Wednesday to avoid the assholes!

3. Everything is beautiful in the world of magic!

2. Lions, tigers, and bears, OH MY!

1. Let's get physical with some greased lightening!

Follow-up Post... [Nov. 25th, 2003|02:15 pm]
Cherrie Marie
So on to the Aerosmith/KISS concert:

KISS puts on a great live show! Pyro, fire, blood, flying in the air, you name it, they did it! Highlights were "Beth", "Lick It Up", and of course "I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll All Night (and Party Every Day". Paul and the boys teased the crowd with "Stairway to Heaven" and "Angie" (p.s. I WILL SEE THE STONES!) Don't deny Stairway! Peter Criss looked like a living fossil behind the drums -- I wanted to pinch him to see if he was actually alive or just a puppet!

Aerosmith, Aerosmith, AEROSMITH! Greatest performance EVER! The boys look great, especially Joe Perry! They have mad style too! All of the songs they performed were excellent, but "What It Takes" (personal favorite), "Cryin", "Walk This Way", "Sweet Emotion", and "Dream On" stand out -- the crowd was going nuts! Only pet peeve was I wished they played longer. KISS stayed on for a long time and I guess they cut into Aerosmith's set. Damn them to hell! Denied of extra time with Joe and Steve!

Here are my top 10 observations from the show...

10. It's nice to go to a concert where you actually feel young...I hate going to concerts with a bunch of teeny-boppers, this time, I was with the Aqua net, Jersey mall hair, spandex, acid washed, mullet crew!

9. OK, KISS, please give up the spandex wih the gaping holes in the legs! We DO NOT want to see you upper thighs! Oh, and cock pieces, please!

8. Paul Stanley has pretty hair, can I have the name of your hair stylist?

7. This will cause nightmares for weeks to come: A middle-aged, white trash couple dancing (if that's what you want to call it) to Nelly's "Hot In Herre" (or however the hell you spell it!)...the stuff that nightmares are made of, I think I'm scarred for life!

6. Steve Tyler has one hell of a mouth!

5. How in the hell do KISS keep all of their make-up on? My ass would sweat that shit off like no tomorrow! Also, when Gene Simmons spit up blood, and had that fake shit all over his face, he didn't bother wiping it off until 10 minutes later. Now I know it's part of the show and shit, but that really bothers me...

4. I had to listen to the biggest KISS fan in the world go on and on about how many times he has seen the group. Give it a break please! After 37 times you should know the whole freakin' stage show! What are you a KISS groupie? Solid Gold dancer? What gives?

3. 45$ for a baby-T -- I don't think so!

2. Mullets were in the house and represented to the fullest! The best was a frizzy, poodle style mullet (kinda Camaro-ish) on a heavy, beer-guslin' white dude. He was twirling his coat around his head like a helicopter...I thought he was going to take out the fifth row!

and of course

1. Spandex -- a privledge, not a right!

It's Been Awhile... [Nov. 25th, 2003|10:22 am]
Cherrie Marie
It's been awhile, I know...

In brief, since I have a 1030 meeting and I have to make this short and sweet, the Aerosmith and KISS concert on 20 Nov was FANTASTIC! One of the best shows I've been to since the Ozzfest in '02! My top 10 list will follow and highlights from the concert.

I've been especially bad on weekends with the drinky drinky. After a long week at work, I need a drink or two, or three, or four, or five...more to come!

[music |P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) -- Michael Jackson]

Take It To The Limit -- The Eagles

You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine

And when you're looking for your freedom
(Nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
(Can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
You're coming back for more

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time.

I'm Still Standing -- Elton John

You could never know what it's like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you
You'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use

And did you think this fool could never win
Well look at me, I'm coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while I'm still standing you just fade away...

Golden Slumbers -- The Beatles

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

It Might Be You -- Stephen Bishop

I've been passing time watching trains go by
All of my life
Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life

Looking back as lovers go walking past
All of my life
Wondering how they met and what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognise the face
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah it's telling me it might be you
All of my life...

I am so ready for the weekend -- An hour and a half to go!

Today's weather is a great change from yesterday's shit. I hate it when it rains and I'm driving. Sometimes I have trouble seeing the lines in the road....that's when I play the game "create your own lane". Everyone else does...

It was nice to wake up to this blustery day. Reminds me of the good ol' Pooh Bear himself. Now if only I could get me some honey love...
